Do my contacts have to install the app?
No. They get a message with a link that opens in any browser. If they do have it installed the alert reaches them better and faster, but it is not required.
Can they see my location all the time?
No. Only while you have a session open, and only the people you have marked. Outside a session there is nothing to see, for them or for us.
What if my battery dies?
The app warns your Circle when the battery gets low during a session, so they know it may cut out. If the phone dies, sharing stops: we cannot prevent that and we would rather say so.
And with no signal?
Your location is stored on the phone and sent as soon as the connection is back. Presence recordings you have starred are already downloaded and play fine with no data.
Does Closifier call the police?
No, and it matters that you know this before you need it. Closifier alerts the people you choose. If you are in immediate danger, call 999: that call comes first.
Can people tell the Presence call is fake?
It comes in as a genuine incoming call, with your phone's call screen, the ringtone and whatever name you gave it. From the outside it looks like any other call.
What do you do with my data?
Nothing beyond showing it to who you say while you say. We do not sell it or hand it to advertisers: this is paid for with subscriptions. Servers are in the European Union.
Can I delete my account?
Yes, the whole thing, from inside the app, with no email to us and nobody to approve it. Your data, your Circle and your history all go.
